Um, yeah, not much news to report here. Plans for the CD Release Party are officially in motion - we've set a date (April 8th), a venue (The Wonderland Ballroom), and yes, the rumors are true, I will be playing with the full band again, now officially named Morrigan and The Strays.

It just so happens, that on SUNDAY, January 4th, 2009, Miss Mo (that's me!) will be turning 36. Ahem, I mean 26...

Anyhoo, I'll be celebrating by playing a 1 hour special listeners acoustic set from 9 to 10 PM that night at The Wonderland Ballroom, and would love for each and every one of my friends and minions to slink out from the underworld and come to Wonderland to help me celebrate. Well, we did it! Fur Love managed to raise over $3000 for the Washington Animal Rescue League. Thanks so much to everyone (too many to list!) for their help in ways large and small. I could not have done this without you!

However, I do have two other shows this week - in Silver Spring (Weds nite) and Baltimore (Thurs nite). Also, I'm working on getting a DC gig and a VA gig for later this month. CRAZY PEOPLE ONLY. This show is a Tuesday night and I don’t even go on until 11:30. Yes, that is right, 11:30. PM.

To make it worth your while if ya do show up, however, I will be playing a non-stop set during the entire 90 minutes I am allotted. No breaks unless a string breaks, and as a stop-gap I have hired a monkey to tell jokes. He promises to be better at it than I am.
So, if you’d like to show up at work on Wednesday morning hungover on five hours’ sleep, find a DD and bring yoselves on up to Leadbetter’s in Fells Point This Tuesday April 8th. I’ll be playing from 11:30 PM to 1 AM straight thru. And no chicken jokes, I promise. Hope to see you there! :-)

I have to say, Melanie (Mel-J - artist manager) and Erin (Rin - Sound Goddess and Siren-in-training) do NOT get enough props for their support of not just me specifically but local music in general. There have been a couple of gigs where them being there was the only thing that got me through a show, and it means so much to me. (I wish I could pay them more). So the next time you see 'em at a show, give them a little "woo hoo" and share the love. Thanks ladies, you are the best!

yeah, I thought so too, but due to a recent earthquake in "Mo-Land" the whole release schedule has been put on hold. I'll have more news soon, I hope, but right now everything is in flux.

However, I know folks have been waiting a really long time, so if you come to a live performance, the new CD "Cords & Strings" will be available for sale at the show. So come on out and see me! peace -Mo

All I can say is, I'm just so happy with how the new EP turned out. I have to thank the following folks who helped out because I didn't get enough liner notes to thank them on the CD - my girls Rin and MelJay, without whom a lot of this doesn't happen; my fantastic sound engineer Blaine; Russ, who did a lovely job mastering at the Furnace; Mike at the Furnace who may just be the coolest guy on the planet; my family, specifically my parents Chris and Joe and my aunt Elaine, who are all my original angels; and last but not least, my sweetie Josh, who has given me absolutely nothing to write about.

Yes, I know - it's been months! While I would like nothing more than to sit and play music all day and shows every night, um, it doesn't really work that way at the moment... however - I will be doing a couple of acoustic shows in the Fall, the first to be sometime in October. As soon as I have a solid date, I'll hire the blimp.

I just went up to Cincinnati with Waking State for the Chicks Rockfest and it was at the absolute coolest venue I've seen - an old mansion called the Southgate House ...definitely check it out if you're ever up thataways!

Also, we just did the St. Agnes Cancer Benefit in Laurel, MD at Crickett's, and what an amazing show that was! Nathalie tells me we managed to raise over $7,000 - that is just so awesome! We're honored to be a part of it.

Acoustic Mo has her own website again! Now, granted, most of my time is spent on Waking State; but I couldn't neglect my ol folkie fans any longer. Also, Waking State will be doing some acoustic stuff coming up, so you can get your softer, gentler Morrigan fix that way, too! Stay tuned...
